Bittersweet Move
Today we are so excited to finally be moving into our new (112 year old) house! We’ve been renovating it for over two years—a time that has been full of more joy and more sorrow than I’ve ever experienced.
We bought this house when it was on the brink of being torn down, just one month before we became pregnant with Ellis. We thought we would bring him home here.
I’m full of bittersweet feelings today—we have so many good memories in our little condo and I’m sad to leave the place where Ellis grew inside my belly for seven months, but there’s also the grief and the memories of coming home from the hospital to a home filled with flowers, sympathy cards, and a nursery that was quickly taken down.
I know this change will bring a sense of renewed energy into our lives and this move also marks a transition into a new season of life for us—we’re on track for our first frozen embryo transfer in two weeks!
I’m grateful for the opportunity to have given new life to this old home and I pray that it will also hold new life for us.
